Temporary Love Thang!

What’s good! It’s your boy, Krush back after a very nice weekend in which I saw the arrest and reported confession of the killers of Washington Redskin Sean Taylor; Missouri and West Virginia choke away National Championship opportunities; my Atlanta Hawks get run off the floor by Chris Paul and the Hornets; and I met a lovely young lady that we will call Fudge. A mutual friend who owns a music/clothing store in the A introduced her to me. One thing I love is that initial spark when you meet a chick with similar interests and a good sense of humor. Can’t say if we are going to end up friends, lovers, or a sick combination of the two but either way I will keep y’all posted.

It looks like there wasn’t that much interest in The Myths about Black Male/Female Relationships. I got several emails and phone calls regarding it but only my girl, Butta, left a comment. What’s up with that?

Anyway, meeting Fudge this weekend made me think that I definitely need to increase my circle of friends and associates. Your man has been feeling like I am in a relationship desert lately so it is time for me to be social and find an oasis. This time of year is when folks snuggle up with that someone special and enjoy spending quality time together. Days are shorter and all the single people seem to be in hibernation. Making it through Thanksgiving without catching the Holiday Blues wasn’t that difficult but getting through all these winter nights ahead without a special cuddle buddy is going to be hard. Do people lower their standards during this time of year just so they won’t be alone? Like everybody else, I would love to meet The One and have a long-term meaningful relationship but right now, a brother would settle for something with an expiration date. When spring comes and the weather changes, you can go ahead and do your thing and I will do mine. Now, if during our winter engagement a deeper connection is made than the physical one then we can make it do what it do. Until then, I am going to accept all those party invites and have myself a good time flirting with some random females that probably belong to some other guy.

When I expressed my feelings about my relationship situation to a close friend of mine, she told me that I was being cold. She called me a male hoe. I think that is a little harsh but you tell me. Are guys the only ones who feel the way I do? Is there anything wrong with a mutually beneficial physical relationship?

Hell..I feel your angst. Living in what is now "Cold-lanta"....and being from New Orleans where we have only have three seasons: Summer, Spring, and 8 weeks of Semi-Fall...LOL...it's almost easy to settle for a warm body....but in my case, it would first require me developing a "social life"....which I do not have, ESPECIALLY when it's cold...I'm in "social-hibernation" until the temperature stabilizes at 75 degrees and above...so in the meantime and between-time, I'll just pile on the blankets to warm my cold feet (the ONLY part of my body that gets COLD!!) and hold out until it gets warm again. Truth is, the drama with these Atlanta negroes are just not worth the trouble....

Oshun - You are being a little hard on the brothers here in Atlanta. I think you would be surprised to find that there are plenty of us just as frustrated with the ladies. Also, I already told you that we are going to take care of that social life issue. :-P

everyone defintely settles this time of year... everyone wants someone they can cuddle with since its cold out and then start running a muck as soon as spring hits.
