My Birthday Tattoo

For my birthday, I said that I was going to get my first tattoo. CL and I went to City of Ink here in Atlanta and both got tats. Mine is an Egyptian scarab beetle with Gemini symbol. Check it out below:

I can see how people get addicted. I'm already thinking about getting another one.

Very nice...I got my first tat on my 30th birthday...it's a butterfly on my ankle; I've been debating a second one ever since and haven't yet made up my mind what I want...I'm leaning toward a Scorpion in the small of my back...

Hey there, you don't know me but I just did a drive by on your sight and saw the tatoo post. I was wondering, as this was your first, did the actual process hurt at all...even a little?

Marvalus - Thanks. Did that one on the ankle hurt?

clnmike - I had been hearing everybody talk about City of Ink so I had my mind set on going there. Miya didn't do mine because he works by appointments only. We just walked in. A brother named Chris hooked us up. I don't think you could go wrong with anybody who works there though.

kc - Welcome to the Playground. Please come back and comment often. As for you question, it hurt initially but after he finished the outline I was numb to it and it didn't bother me at all.

Don't know why I have such an opposition to them, even when I see ones that I like. 40 yrs and no tats.

I'm feeling it. I have 7 myself. It's been 2 years since I got one and I think about it almost every other day.

Nice! I'm to transient to commit to a tat, but that's a good looking one.

Looka you in ya wife beater! lol

very nice tattoo!!!

I have two from when I was much younger. I don't think I have the tolerance for the pain at this age and one of them, I wouldn't mind having removed.

Pretty (in a masculine way of course;-). No tats for me - when i heard u can't donate blood for a year i wondered: what exactly is that ink DOING to the system. Am thinking about another piercing tho' ;-) got 5 of those so far....

It didn't hurt while getting it; but it hurt like hell when it was healing...

I'm thinking about one. I want it on my back. Everyone is like girl that is going to hurt. It is a huge design. Yet, I thnk it is tactful and sexy. Others agree just say it is going to hurt.
That's what is stopping me. . . pain.
Plus, the fact that I may not want it in a year.
Read Pharrell is trying to have all his removed.
And I hear they are painful to remove.

Spend my money on some shoes those I know I'll always want.

Oh, don't go all Lil' Wayne.

rich - Its just another form of personal expression.

renge - Wow, 7? I can't see myself getting that many. Maybe a couple more.

sdg1844 - Thanks! It took me forever to come up with what I actually wanted.

ticia - Thanks!

eb - I wanted to go to Miya but I found out at the last minute that he only took walk-ins. Chris did mine.

odiva - Yeah, check out my gangsta look. LOL! I hear it is more painful to have it removed than getting it. I'll pass. Did you get an old boyfriend's name on your behind? LOL

gg - I can see you singing it and doing that dance that little momma does when she sings it. LMAO

capcity - Piercings, huh? You got me thinking about that post the other day on PChats. What was it, a reverse Prince Albert?

marvalus - Mine doesn't hurt so much as itch. I thought I was going to tear my arm off today.
