What Did You Say?

Hello, fam! I tried my best to stay away from the blogosphere but I could not do it. Honestly, I missed y’all. In my best Diddy, “Did you miss me?” LOL! While I was away, I had plenty of time to check out other blogs, read some good books, and do some soul-searching about where I wanted to take the Playground. The one thing that kept coming up was the idea that words are powerful. Words create impressions, images, and expectations. They build psychological connections. They influence how we think. Since thoughts determine actions, there is a powerful connection between the words we use and the results we get. I realized the words I use to think and talk about my workload, my goals, my projects and the people I worked with influenced my thoughts and actions about them. So, I changed my words. If I say I work "for" someone I have a different vision about my work-life than if I work "with" them; same with my staff working with, not for me. Since I started this blog, I have expressed my desire to be in a loving relationship and to have a more active social life. Each of these things has come to fruition, the relationship more than the social life. However, my life has definitely changed for the better. I am no fool. I realize that words alone will not make my dreams come true. Hard work and prayers are essential. However, I am going to continue to put my dreams and desires out there in the universe.

Krush’s Top Five Dreams for the future:

1. To be in a financial situation that allows me to do all of the fun things that I want to do like travel, shop, and pamper my girl

2. Somebody to create a petition to ban the use of the vocal recorder. (Sorry T-Pain, Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown)

3. For the Eagles and the Seahawks to meet in the NFC Championship game and the winner to become Super Bowl champions

4. New CD’s from Maxwell, Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, Bilal, Tribe Called Quest, and Anita Baker in the next 12 months

5. For Barack Obama to be elected and promptly give me today’s equivalent of 40 acres and a mule

Welcome back!

I can dig the entire list.

As for #5, wonder what today's equivalent to 40 acres and a mule would be? Hmmm...lemme marinate on that one.

As for #4 and the new CDs, I can dig all of them except for Bilal. He opened up for Jill Scott last month in Detroit and he was NOT delicious. Seemed like he was trippin on 'X' or something.

ieisha - Thanks! I have been lurking lately.

I don't know what today's total would be but I will be gladly take my portion.

I'm a stan for Bilal. I know his show can be a little crazy but dude's voice is always on point. Plus, I love how he takes chances with the music.

Eagles & Seahawks? I was going to say welcome back but if you gonna be talkin' crazy.. . .

Joking.

I am ready for a new CD from Maxwell and Lauryn Hill. He is going on tour. Of course he is not coming to my city. He is coming to yours (the A). I am trying to figure where I am flying to see him. He is going to VA where my sister lives. NC where a friend lives and the A where I know a few people. I have to get to one of them.

pajnstl - What's up! I like all of them but #1 is my favorite too.

Eb - Just worry about winning the fantasy football league. Your boys haven't won a playoff game since the first Bush was President.

Sharon - Didn't nobody say anything about your squad. They can still make the Super Bowl and get beat. Yeah, I'm trying to check that Maxwell show out too.

T - Who's your team? Tennessee?

Lovin' #2, 4 and 5. Sometimes you need to take a break and re-evaluate. I learned about your blog from the fab Marva @ The Marvalus View.

Nice post Krush. There is much power in writing things down, hence why I wrote down my five year plan and review it often. I too am glad that the relationship and social pieces are coming together. Again, the power of words.

You know I'm ESPECIALLY down with 3,4,5. I am SO hyped for Sunday kickoff. Already getting my Eagles gear ready for the fan club's meeting at the sports bar. LOL! However, I wouldn't hold my breath for new albums from Tribe, L Boogie or B. LOL! But nothing wrong with dreaming!

sdg1844 - Thanks! I totally agree.

vivrant - How was the vacation? What is this about relationship coming together? I haven't heard about this. I think the Eagles are going to be the surprise team in the NFC this year. Let's be ready to talk much shit!. LOL
