Things Martin Said Other Than, "I Have A Dream!"

It's a shame that this great man has been limited to just one famous speech. Here are some of my favorite quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr.:

"Whatever your life's work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better."

"We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people."

"We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies."

"There is nothing more tragic than to find an individual bogged down in the length of life, devoid of breadth."

"Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think."

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"

"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

I don't think he's been limited to that one speech, but in its entirety it truly is a great speech. I also enjoyed his letter from Birmingham jail...in it's entirety that would have made a great speech as well.

Well done, I always thought people have turned MLK into a "highlight". Missing really a lot of his range.

I feels ya. MLK used to do over 500 speeches a year (no b.s.)
Don't limit him to (in my opinion) one of his average ones. He's got some bangers out there for real. Make you wanna go to church and start marching
