Random Thoughts

NCAA Tournament - This is one of my favorite times of the year period. Winter turns to spring; women start rocking open toes shoes again, and the NBA and college hoops get into championship mode. My memories of the NCAA tournament go way back to my elementary school days. It was one of the few times that my parents would let me stay up past my bedtime on a school night. That was the start of me being a certified basketball junkie. I am on a absolute high from yesterday's games too. Georgetown getting taken out by a mid-major and so many great buzzer beaters just solidified my love for this tournament.

Tiger's sexting - Are you serious? First of all, this is what you get when you mess with gut-bucket trolls like the chicks that Tiger allegedly messed with. Secondly, this only confirms just how much of a lame this dude is/was. Let's be honest though folks, all of us have sent some text messages like that but we just didn't get put on blast. I feel like they are trying to assassinate this dude's career. Even though I've never been a fan of him as a celebrity, I respect his game. Cheering for him to kill them at the Masters.

Friday Flashback

This is my all-time favorite Coltrane song. Dude was a monster and his entire band was too.

Friday Flashback:

This used to be my joint. Remember when she had this type of swagger (yeah, i know!)? Recently, this song has made me think of CL.

Dwele, Gator, Flashback Friday

Last night, CL and I went to Dwele in concert at one of my favorite venues, Sugar Hill. I'm usually not a fan of the weeknight show especially when I have to get up at o'dark thirty in the morning to go to work the next day. However, we haven't been to any shows since we saw Teedra Moses a couple months back. When we arrived there was long line of people waiting to get into Sugar Hill. No line for ticket holders and a seperate one for ticket purchasers, just one line. After about twenty minutes in this slow-moving line, we are approached by an man who appears to be drunk as hell with a mouth full of gold. Immediately, he put me in the mind of Gator from Jungle Fever. (see below) Homeboy, was like, "Old School! You sure you can drop down low with these young girls!" I couldn't even respond. Just laughed and kept it moving.

We get inside and find a nice spot to the left of the stage but it a little too close to the speaker for CL's liking. So at the first opportunity we moved to the middle of the floor in front of the stage for a better view. We had a little time before the show began so we had a few drinks and danced to the music the deejay was spinning. My baby was looking so good. Cute top, black shorts and those heels I bought her for her birthday. Very sexy. Evidently, I wasn't the only one who thought she was hot because the chick next to her was staring the entire night and probably would have tried to holla if I wasn't there. I ain't mad at her either.

Anyway, the show was great. A local Atlanta artist, Dain Harris, started things off nice with a couple acoustic joints. However, the real show was Dwele. The brother put it down something lovely. Had all the ladies swooning including CL. She was talking about, "He's singing to me!" LOL Why do grown women turn into teenage girls around famous dudes? There was a group of thirsty dancers that ran to the stage when Dwele was singing to a lady in the front. Like he was going to see them and forget what he was doing or something. Hilarious! The moment of the night was when Frankie Beverly came on stage and sang Joy & Pain.

Overall, it was a great night. This morning I am feeling the effects though. Didn't get to bed until 12:30. Maybe I should limit myself to going out on Friday and Saturday nights.

Friday Flashback: Some Random Stuff

Thank God, it is Friday! I was busy this week so I didn’t get a chance to post much. Work is really kicking my behind. We are rapidly approaching the end of the current fiscal year and it seems like everybody has decided that they want to work all of a sudden. On top of that, we are going through a reorganization that has everybody nervous and tightening up their resumes. If I don’t get this promotion, I am going to be out of there with the quickness.

On top of all that stress, I decided to stop eating red meat after my birthday last week. I am really craving a nice juicy steak right now but I’m going to chill. Feel like I might turn into a chicken soon though.

CL and I will be checking out Wanted this weekend. I’m not a big action movie person but my favorite flicks so far this year are Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.

I was going to post something about the BET Awards but everybody has already said what I was going to say. Here’s my two cents anyway:

Good: Maxwell’s return to the spotlight. Dude is a natural showman. Swagger is ridiculous.
Bad: That horrible tennis shoe song that Nelly, JD and Ciara performed. Although Ciara did look hot when she was out there with Chris Brown.
Ugly: This one is a tie between SWV looking like they robbed a Krispy Kreme and Lil’ Wayne slurring his way through another performance and into the hearts of folks who don’t like good music.

Speaking of bad music is it me or is it impossible to listen to the radio right now?

I’ve got about five mixes by DJ Parler in my MP3 player right now. He’s my favorite DJ right now. Check him out.

I haven’t had much time to read lately but I need suggestion on good books.

I posted my first piece on The Pussy Chats, check it out and let me know what you think.

What ever happened to the The L.A. Dream Team?

Random Stuff

I am sitting at my desk trying to figure out how many hours is it before I can go home and get fucked up.

This is a very busy time of year for us and my phone and email are blowing up with questions about when am I going to get this or that done.

FUCK ALL Y’ALL!!! – Is what I really want to say but of course I cannot. Need my gig in this rough economy. It is partially my fault anyway for procrastinating about some of these deadlines.

Does not help that I keep thinking about how good CL put it down last night. They need a male version of that Jill Scott song, Whatever, so I can sing that for my baby.

She has definitely pushed the boy shorts ahead of the thong as my favorite panties to see a woman wearing.

I am getting a tattoo for my birthday this year. It will be my first. A little nervous but still excited. Thinking about a Gemini symbol on my shoulder.

My sister (fellow Gemini – June 19) is coming back to Atlanta before moving to Brazil for a year on grant that she was awarded. Cannot wait to kick it with her.

I really could use some Cold Stone Creamery this weekend.

Ever have a flashback of some really good sex in the middle of a meeting? I know those people were wondering what the hell was wrong with me when that shiver went down the middle of my back.

Created an “adult” version of Scrabble that I play with CL. Love it because you cannot lose. I am still the Champ though, baby!

Is it possible for one person to be everything you want?

I am really feeling scatter brain lately. Can y’all give me some ideas on what you might want to read my opinion on?

Matter of fact, just give me some questions of things you want to know.

Friday Flashback: Week In Review

This has been one hell of a week. My entire job relocated to a new building. I started taking mass transit to work which drastically changed my morning routine. I don’t have OCD but I am a creature of habit, doing something at a different time or in a different order can seriously mess up the rest of my day. Basically, I’ve been a little off all week. Not an excuse but that is the reason that I’ve neglected to blog as much as usual.

Read a great article on Barack Obama

As you know, I am an Obama supporter. Still got hope that a change is going to come. When he first declared his candidacy there was a bunch of talk around the barbershop that he wasn’t black enough. Finally, someone has set the record straight regarding this issue. Please check out this article. Very good read.

Soulja Girl had the Atlanta News on lockdown

I know y’all have seen the video of this chick going off on an elderly lady on the MARTA. If you live in Atlanta like I do, you’ve seen it on every single newscast, heard interviews with her mother, passengers from the train, and doctors describing her mental health issues. Please stop it! I don’t care! If you ride the MARTA, you have seen worse acts of disrespect than this on a daily basis. This one just happened to be caught on video. My freshman year at Morehouse, my roommates and I witness two homeless people having sex in the last car of the train. That deserved news coverage.

Ignorant Moment of the Week!

Krush: What are you doing?
Co-worker: I’m working on a resume for my little cousin who just got out of boot camp.
Krush: That’s cool. He’s trying to get his life together?
Co-worker: Yeah. I want him to get a job before he gets back in them streets.
Krush: What did he do?
Co-worker: Don’t laugh!
Krush: OK
Co-worker: He got caught selling crack to an undercover agent
Krush: What’s funny about that?
Co-worker: He was selling crack to get money for his weed habit.
Krush: LOL!

Friday Flashback

This right here is my theme song right now. “I Wanna Wiiiin!”
