Happy Monday! How was everybody’s weekend? I am making a conscious effort to write more blogs in 2009 than I did in the last half of ’08. I am sure you noticed that, right? I would like to say that my real life got so hectic that I did not have time to write but that would not be the truth. Honestly, I just did not have anything to say. As many blogs that I have read acknowledge, it is easier to write when things are not going right in your life. You are trying to work things out in your mind and seeking some sort of clarity. When you are happy and content, you just do not want to jinx it. I want to reverse that philosophy and start acknowledging the good things in life and celebrating happy times. Hope you do not mind!
CL:
This was a typical weekend for CL and me. Friday night, she was with the kids and I went out for drinks with a friend. Saturday, I had to work so I did not get over her house until that afternoon. Unbeknownst to her, I made a quick trip to the Coach Outlet and picked up a purse for her. Do not believe what the rappers say, it is tricking if you got it. Seriously, I owed her a Christmas present, so this was my attempt to make up for it. She seemed to like it. Sunday, I watched football and played around on the computer. CL had stuff to do with the kids. It hit me last night that I have the coolest girlfriend in the world. Any of the other women I have dated would have been trippin’ about time spent.
NBA 2K9:
My name is Krush and I am a 2K9 addict. I know y’all remember the commercials when this game first came out with KG and The Cool Kids bumping’. So far, this is my favorite game for my Xbox 360. I cannot play it during the week because I will be up way past the time that I should have my ass in the bed. If any of you play online, let me know so you can get run.
NFL Playoffs:
I cannot front. Every since the Falcons lost, I have not been too into the playoffs. I did watch the Eagles-Giants game because I am a Donovan McNabb and Eagles fan. I love that they beat the Giants to advance. That makes it all the sweeter. Really surprised that the Panthers got beat. Pittsburgh has to be the favorite to win the whole thing now. Do not sleep on the Ravens though.
F The Police:
I finally saw the video of the police shooting of Oscar Grant in the BART train station in Oakland, CA. WTF!! They had dude on his stomach with three officers surrounding him. Mr. Grant is pleading with them when one cop pulls out his weapon and shoots him in the back. I am heated about this bullshit but I cannot say that I am surprised. It was not that long ago that the police ran up in an elderly woman’s home with a false warrant and killed her in Atlanta. I can understand people’s anger about this situation but I have always been one who thought that rioting was counterproductive. I also heard that there have been at least two other police shootings since the beginning of the year. It’s damn shame.
Anyway, I hope everybody has a good and productive week.

Love or Lust
CL and I have been together for damn near eight months. Wow! Time flies when you are having fun. Sometimes it feels as if we’ve been together for years. I mean that in a good way. On our good days, we have such a great chemistry and comfort level that everything we do seems so natural. Other days, we feel like strangers who are just going through the motions. In the end, that’s my best friend though. She’s got my back and I’ve got hers.
My mom is always talking about how quickly I fall in love. Every since I was in high school, I have always been a relationship type of guy. I never really enjoyed being single and trying to meet women. The whole dating thing grows old on me real fast. Some might even describe me as a Sucker for Love. Mr. Sensitive. One of my former co-workers would say I had a bad case of the Ralph Tresvants. Either way, I’m just being me. Can’t really help it.
Does love have a time frame? How do you tell the difference between love and lust?
It’s real easy to get caught up in the beginning stages of your relationship and think that you are in love. Anybody who has ever been in that situation where you are getting some good love on the regular, sharing new experiences, and someone is really feeling your story, can testify that at some point you have to take a step back and evaluate. Am I really in love or is it just the new booty? Are we compatible or am I overlooking something?
In my last relationship, the paint didn’t start to chip until we reached the seven month mark. That’s when my belief that we would one day get married and grow old together hit a serious brick wall. I realized that I didn’t even like this woman. I was blinded by the anticipation of the next freaky thing we would do. Didn’t even see it coming. So this time, I swore to myself that I would take my time and go slow. Didn’t happen that way. I was caught up fast just like before.
It feels different this time though. I am communicating more. We talk about our feelings all the time. She knows where I stand and I know how she feels. Even though I lust for her body 24/7, I wouldn’t be satisfied with just that. I want her mind, body, love, faith, and devotion.
What about you?...
Have you ever mistaken lust for love? What happened when you realized your mistake?
How can you tell the difference?
Have you changed your approach to dating because of it?

I Love Your Girl
This weekend CL and I went out to get our party on at a monthly event for grown (some sexy….most not) folks. The type of event that brings out all of the men (me included) who are too old to be in the club and packs of women who want to shake their asses without having to fight off a stalker throughout the night. One of the first things we notice is that there seems to be a bunch of hard legs at this function. That is an unusual occurrence in Atlanta unless you accidentally wonder into one of the many gay clubs in the city. This is a city whose reputation is for women outnumbering men 12 to 1, At this point in the evening, it appears the hot women of Atlanta were getting crunk at some other function. So here, I am in a den of hungry wolves with a sexy lady on my arm. It was just a matter of time before one of them tried to make a move. This is why I always had a rule about not taking your girl to the club. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe in handcuffing women when we go out. It’s not necessary that we are all up under each other for the entire night. My daddy once told me that nothing is as lame as standing outside the ladies room waiting for your woman.
We got there on the early side so we decide to grab some seats, some drinks and just chill until the crowd arrives. We had already enjoyed a couple hurricanes before we left home so both of us were feeling good. But it’s a party, right? So I step away to grab a couple overpriced drinks from the bar, crown & coke (me) and vodka & cranberry (her). I couldn't have been more than three steps away from CL when I spot in my peripheral vision a brother making a bee line to where she is sitting. I’m thinking to myself, “I know this fool isn’t about to holla at my girl who he clearly saw was with me!” I don’t trip though. Proceed to the bar to get our drinks but I did keep my eye on the exchange that ensued. They were out of earshot but I saw him step to CL and deliver his corny ass line. She quickly shut him down. He did the walk of shame back across the room to find somebody else’s woman to approach. CL flashed me a smile if to say, “Can you believe this guy?” The sad part is that this wasn’t the first time something like that happened over the weekend. The night before, CL and I went out for dinner at a neighborhood restaurant. Had a guy turn completely around from the bar and stare at my girl. A less secure man would have been ready to fight. I was calm because CL had just slipped me the black lace panties she removed while in the restroom. I had other priorities for the evening.
Some people might consider this behavior a compliment to the attractiveness of their mate. I’m not one of those people. It’s just plain disrespectful to me. It seems like a man isn’t immune from this type of disrespect no matter where he takes his woman. It doesn’t really come as a surprise. If you listen to popular music, there is the repeated theme of I’ll take your woman or your man. When did we just completely lose respect for couples? Was it too much Maury Povich or Divorce Court?
Has someone every approached your man/woman when you were out in public?
How did you handle the situation?
Have you ever stepped to or flirted with someone knowing they were with someone?
What was the result?

Spellbound
Damn, you turn me on
You are a talented seductress
Just the sound of your voice
Excites me
Almost crashed my car
From the oral love you gave
Tongue tricks
Could make a preacher curse
I make it last
So I can enjoy the caress
Of your kitty
Love to make your juices flow
And you taste as good as you look
Nourishment to my lust for you
Keep feeding me baby
Hips got more moves than Shakira
Sweetie, you got me
Under your spell
You are a talented seductress
Just the sound of your voice
Excites me
Almost crashed my car
From the oral love you gave
Tongue tricks
Could make a preacher curse
I make it last
So I can enjoy the caress
Of your kitty
