Kind of Blue

I woke up in this kind of mood today. Nothing better than Miles and Coltrane.

the wonderful thing about miles and coltrane is that no matter how many times they performed this song, it was never exactly the same. there was always something different about them, even with the same riff. that's why i love jazz, especially from this era.

nikki - that's called talent. most of the cats on the radio today can't even feel music to this degree.

boi...i don't agree. i think there is plenty of talent out there, just not enough respect for the craft. music has become so commercial that the act of making music has become just that...an act. it's no longer an experience or a journey or an evolution/expression of the soul...it's this superficial plucking of the notes to the tune of record sales. that's about it.

I'm feeling you with the classic tunes but I am tired of being blue...

nikki - you are 100% correct.it's the lack of respect for the art form.

all-mi-t - what you know about this?

trina - he isn't talking about a sad type of blues on this one. blue as in cool. mellow.

but if you're already in a mellow sorta mood...
