Yesterday was a good day primarily because I decided to work on those things that I can control. Number one among those things is my mental outlook. Instead of focusing on the negative, I decided to embrace the good things. It is still hard for me to not take bad stuff personally but one step at a time. So that makes today the second day of Operation Get My Swagger Back.
Trying to figure out how I am going to make it happen. Stop getting in my own way. Start counting my blessings. Great relationship, good family, employed, and healthy. That means that today is a chance to make life better. An opportunity to make better choices.
When I close my eyes I visualize a life that is filled with love. One in which I enjoy myself regardless of the other distractions of life. Grandma would tell me that finding faith in the Lord would be the key to that. Deep down I feel she is right. Need to find my way back to Him. Also know that my path to happiness is within. Everything I am not makes me everything that I am.
I want thank CL for hanging in there with me. You are the best and I love you with all my heart. Good days ahead, sweetie!

Good for you! It's hard sometimes to come out of a funk. I know sometimes I have to stop and count my blessings and remember that there is always someone doing worse than you!
Your post is very inspirational, I too have problems counting my blessings sometimes, and I have often gotten in my own way, but I just take it one day at a time now, and as God to show me the path that I know is mine.
When I let go of all my crap and quit focusing on myself all the time I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
You are lucky to have good friends like CL, people that are there for you no matter what, it is wonderful to have friends that will stick by you during the tough times, it just makes the good times seem even brighter then.

Hi skoolboi,
I'm coming through for a visit.
Be encouraged brother. The first step towards a cure is realizing there is a problem.
The second step is your willingness to cure the problem.
Everybody has reasons to be down or to take what happens too deep and personally. We all do this from time to time.
But as a man thinks it-so it is!
So I believe my brotha that you have started making the desired changes.
Yay! God is within you, just the awareness and inner/outer vision that you really are in control means you are 90% there....best to you...also glad you found love--good work, CL :-)
